Role Overview

In the role of Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

  1. Coordinating the work of the mechanical design team through schematic design development and contract document phases.
  2. Participating in meetings and reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
  3. Managing workload to ensure timely project completion.
  4. Conducting work sessions at project sites with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
  5. Reviewing mechanical documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
  6. Writing and editing mechanical specifications, and selecting equipment and systems.
  7. Coordinating with affected disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs, change orders, and incorporating changes into project documents.
  8. Providing construction contract administration as needed.
  9. Performing QA/QC on the work of team members.
  10. Performing other duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in mechanical system design for commercial or institutional buildings.
  • Experience with healthcare, science, technology, or civic facilities.
  • Interest in sustainable design/LEED is a plus.
  • Preference for local candidates.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in mechanical system design for commercial or institutional facilities.
  • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Trane TRACE, or similar software.
  • Experience with architectural/engineering consulting firms.
