Qualifications

• Vocational/associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer tech, air conditioning, or similar plus 3 years industry experience or 1 year servicing HVAC electronic/mechanical systems.
• Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
• Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in a professional manner.
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
• Leadership skills to support Mechanics on non-complex Building Automation equipment on a job site.
• PC experience and ability to program HVAC related software.

Responsibilities

• Load system-level controller software.
• Perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices and complete all commissioning documentation.
• Keep management and customers informed of job progress and issues.
• Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment.
• Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
• Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation.
• Communicate with contractor or customer on arrival and before leaving the work site.
• Follow safety standards and attend safety training.
• Provide recommendations to improve facility efficiency and upsell opportunities, with quotes to support recommendations.
