Job summary

Capstone Mechanical seeks an HVAC Controls Technician to install, calibrate, repair, and maintain HVAC control systems and building automation. You will work at customer sites, diagnose direct digital controls, and ensure high quality and energy management outcomes.

Eligibility requires a post-secondary HVACR program, two years of experience, Texas license, and strong communication skills to interact with clients and Capstone staff. Willingness to travel and occasional overtime is expected.

Qualifications

• High school graduate and graduate of a post-secondary HVACR program of instruction of two or more years.
• Two or more years of successful HVACR experience, either as a commercial service or commercial installation technician.
• Good oral and reading skills, including the ability to read and apply manufacturers' instructions and to clearly communicate with customers, suppliers, and Capstone employees.
• Physical ability to perform all duties under Texas conditions.
• Interest and initiative in maintaining HVACR skills via training and development activities.
• Current Texas operator's license and the ability to operate all vehicles in the fleet (insurable).
• Ability to read and apply manufacturers' instructions and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs direct digital control systems at customer's location.
• Understands complex HVAC sequences of operations on various control systems.
• Prepares for on-site installation by examining layout, gathering materials, and coordinating work.
• Records parts, materials, labor, and other cost data for assignments.
• Represents Capstone by serving as a direct customer contact.
• Maintains inventory and documents related activities.
• Tests, downloads programming, starts up, commissioning, and servicing on assigned projects.
• Uses control drawings, plans, and specs to mount, test, and program control systems.
• Provides training at customer sites and sales leads to appropriate personnel.
• Drives and maintains company vehicles and completes required paperwork promptly.
• Oversees on-site issues and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Regular travel with occasional overnight stays; overtime/weekends as required.
