Job summary

Comfort Systems USA Shoffner in Knoxville, TN is seeking an HVAC Controls Technician to join our service team. You will perform maintenance and troubleshooting of commercial and industrial HVAC controls, install conduit, pull wire, and read controls drawings.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of HVAC controls experience, electrical experience, and a drive to learn. Tridium N4 certification is preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with HVAC controls or commercial HVAC service.
• Electrical experience with a desire to learn HVAC Controls.
• Tridium N4 certification or the ability to obtain is required.
• Advanced computer skills for documentation and system monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting safely in commercial/industrial settings.
• Install conduit, pull wire, and terminate controls per drawings.
• Read controls drawings and install BAS systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repair of controls.
• Diagnose breakdown causes, test parts, and perform repairs.
• Complete daily electronic documentation on a mobile device or computer.
• Travel within territory to service calls as needed.

We are looking for an HVAC Controls Technician to join our service team in Knoxville, TN.

Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems and how they operate is a plus.

To be successful in this role, you will need to show initiative, problem‑solving, and experience coordinating with company and customer agencies to accomplish tasks safely and efficiently.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Perform assigned HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting tasks safely in commercial and industrial settings. Must be able to install conduit, pull wire, and terminate controls based on controls drawings. Demonstrated ability to read controls drawings and understand the steps for installation of BAS Systems. Perform preventative maintenance and repair of controls as needed. Diagnose causes of breakdowns, test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components. Knowledge of Building Automation Systems to ensure proper troubleshooting and repair. Complete required electronic documentation daily on an iPhone, iPad, or computer. Operate company vehicle to complete service calls in a specified territory. Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned.

Experience, Training, and/or Certifications

3+ years of experience with HVAC controls or commercial HVAC service. Electrical experience with a desire to learn HVAC Controls. Advanced computer coding skills preferred. Tridium N4 certification or the ability to obtain is required.
