Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced HVAC Controls technician to join a growing team. You will program, troubleshoot, install, and commission control systems, working with DDc/BAS technologies and low voltage components on varied commercial projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HVAC Controls experience.
• Direct Digital Controls Systems (DDC), Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical and electro-mechanical fields.
• Able to use hand power tools and electrical testing equipment such as a multimeter.

Job description

• Perform programming, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and preventative maintenance of HVAC control systems, including mechanical, electrical, and low voltage components.
• Respond to service and warranty calls using client-specific configuration and commissioning tools, as well as various hand tools, including electrical testing meters and other electronic testing equipment.
• Provide frontline technical and repair support through effective communication with clients’ customers.
• Offer system repair or update recommendations and assist in proposing these recommendations to customers.

How to do it:

• Load client field and network-level controller software.
• Perform commissioning and system diagnostics for all levels of system controllers and end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators), and complete all required commissioning documentation.
• Keep management and contractors/customers informed of job progress and issues.
• Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment.
• Complete administrative tasks, including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
• Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation.
• Participate in company-sponsored and self-initiated training to maintain the highest level of knowledge and capability.
• Engage with customers to fully understand their systems and needs.
• Communicate with contractors or customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
• Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training, with a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
