Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is helping a leading independent HVAC rep in North America recruit a skilled technician. You will join a team focused on commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and building automation.

Daily duties include providing responsive customer service, diagnosing and troubleshooting direct digital control systems, performing preventative maintenance, commissioning, and retrofit work. You will mentor junior techs and support field installations.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include 5+ years of technical experience in BAS/HVAC
• Ability to read and interpret low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams
• Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools
• Experience with DDC controllers and BACnet protocol fundamentals
• Cornerstone is strong customer service and mentoring capabilities

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive and professional customer service to build long-term relationships
• Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems
• Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and retrofit modifications as needed
• Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming
• Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians
• Train and mentor less experienced technicians
• Create/implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofits
• Commission controls installations and verify control sequences meet specs
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, and other articles promptly
• Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Engage in training in Building Automation and HVAC industry

Job description

My client is the largest independent commercial HVAC manufacturers’ rep in North America, with 20 locations in the US and Canada. You would become part of the best team in Commercial HVAC, Refrigeration, and of course, BMS and Industrial Controls.

What You Will Do

• Provide responsive and professional customer service with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships
• Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems
• Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers
• Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming
• Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians
• Train and mentor less experienced technicians
• Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects
• Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
• Interact and train customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call and explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Factory Certified Training, Online Training Courses, or other professional on the job training in the Building Automation and HVAC Industry

Minimum Qualifications

• Technical training and 5+ years of equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in BAS, HVAC, or related industry
• Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools
• Competency in operation of engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices, BACnet protocol fundamentals
• Competency in the operation of HVAC equipment and controls
• Ability to read low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams
• Experience with any common integration protocols such as: BACnet MST / IP, LON, Modbus TCP
