Johnson Controls in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced HVAC controls service supervisor to lead field technicians and contribute to commissioning and service work across BMS and HVAC control systems.

You will plan monthly routes, coordinate technicians, troubleshoot, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time service while collaborating with sales, operations, and other teams. Proficiency with BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks and related controls is required.

Qualifications

  • 6-10 years in BMS, HVAC controls, installation, commissioning, service or troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on controller programming, sensor/actuator calibration, and onsite system verification.
  • Working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks.
  • Experience commissioning HVAC equipment such as chillers, AHUs, FCUs, cooling towers, pumps, and VAVs.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, service documentation, and handover records accurately.
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English.

  • Coach, develop, and support technicians while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
  • Contribute to bid, estimate, and operational review activities when required.

Role Overview

This role is responsible for leading assigned field technicians while also contributing directly to HVAC controls service work. You will help plan and coordinate service activities, support troubleshooting and commissioning, and ensure customer sites are serviced safely, accurately, and on time.

Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6-10 years of experience in BMS, HVAC controls, installation, commissioning, service, or troubleshooting.

  • Working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.

Nice to Have
  • Minimum 2-3 years of team handling or supervisory experience.
  • Experience mentoring service engineers or technicians in the field.
  • Exposure to bid and estimate review, workforce planning, or performance review activities.
  • PLC or SCADA knowledge.
  • Experience with third-party software integration and system handover documentation.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $36-50 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
