Job summary

PTR Global is seeking an experienced DDC Controls Service Technician to support mobile and installed-project HVAC clients. This role centers on DDC systems—VAV boxes, air handling units, pumps, and related control devices—and excludes mechanical repair.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, responding to service calls, and diagnosing control issues with Niagara N4, while ensuring documentation and customer satisfaction. Relocation to Mobile, AL or Dothan, AL is offered.

Qualifications

• Prior DDC controls experience required; building automation knowledge needed.
• Ability to work independently in the field and manage service calls.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

Client is seeking an experienced DDC Controls Service Technician to support client’s growing base of captive service customers as well as provide service support to installed-project clients.

• This role focuses exclusively on controls systems associated with HVAC equipment—including VAV boxes, air handling units, pumps, and related control devices.
• This position does not involve mechanical service or equipment repair.

Key Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair DDC control systems associated with HVAC equipment.

• Respond to service calls for both contracted service customers and installed-project clients.
• Identify control-related issues including sensors, controllers, actuators, networks, and programming logic.
• Navigate and support systems using Niagara Framework (N4) Perform point-to-point verification, controller replacement, and minor programming modifications.
• Identify service opportunities and communicate recommendations to customers and internal
• teams.
• Accurately document service activities and resolutions.
• Support long-term system reliability and customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:

Prior DDC controls experience required (manufacturer background does not matter).

• Strong understanding of building automation systems.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

Niagara N4 programming or navigation experience

• Familiarity with Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, or similar BAS platforms
• Ability to read control drawings, sequences, and wiring diagrams
