Job summary

Texas AirSystems is seeking an experienced Controls Service Technician to join our field team in Texas. You will work on startup, troubleshooting, commissioning, servicing, and training for DDC Building Automation Systems, communicating clearly with customers, contractors, engineers, and teammates.

The role requires five years of HVAC building automation experience with Niagara. Travel to customer sites is expected; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

  • HVAC Building Automation experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years with Niagara systems.
  • Familiar with BACnet; LonWorks/Modbus a plus.
  • Strong communication and reading plans.
  • Willing to travel and work overtime.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain customer relationships on occupied building contracts.
  • Analyze problems and resolve issues for proper system functionality.
  • Identify opportunities for advanced building operations and energy savings.
  • Create and modify animated graphics and minor software changes.
  • Perform service repairs, adjustments and calibration on Building Automation Systems.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers as applicable.
  • Checkout, start-up, and commissioning on controls projects.
  • Mentor and assist peers as applicable.

Controls Service Technician
Reports to: Service Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly
The Opportunity

We areseekingan experienced ControlsServiceTechniciantowork as part of a teamresponsible forstart-up, troubleshooting,commissioning,servicing, and trainingof DDCBuildingAutomationSystems. This position requires the ability to communicate clearly with customers, mechanical contractors, mechanicalengineers,andco-workers.

Responsibilities
  • Build andmaintaincustomer relationships, primarily focused on occupied building contracts
  • Analyze problems and resolve issues to ensure proper system functionality
  • Explore and report opportunities for advanced solutions for building operationsand energy savings
  • Creationand modificationsof animated graphics and minor software changes
  • Performs service repairs, adjustments, and calibration onBuildingAutomationSystems
  • Provide technical support and training to customers as applicable
  • Checkout,start-up,and commissioning oncontrolsprojects
  • Mentoring andassistingpeers as applicable
The Required Profile
  • High School Diploma, MilitaryServiceand/or Trade Schooleducation
  • Minimum of five(5)years of experience with HVAC Building Automation Systems,specifically withNiagara
  • Niagara AX and N4, Honeywell Webs is a plus, familiar with other control systems
  • Deep understanding of BACnet protocol, with someLonworksand Modbus experience
  • Must have good computer skills and be familiar with IP networks
  • Communication skillsrequired(bothverbal andwritten)
  • Flexibleto work overtime,weekendsand/or an on-call schedule as needed
  • Proficient in reading plans, submittaldrawingsand wiring diagrams
  • Musthave experience usingvarious hand and power tools
  • Ability totravelout-of-townoccasionallymay berequired
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving history

Environmental Requirements

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employeeis regularly required touse hands tooperatecomputerkeyboardreachwith hands and arms. The employeefrequentlyis required tostand, walk, and sit. The employeeis continually required toclimb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to25pounds,occasionallylift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
