Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced HVAC Controls Project Manager to lead commercial BAS/BMS projects in Texas. You will own projects from kickoff to closeout, coordinating field technicians, electricians, and contractors while ensuring profitability and schedule adherence.

You will read mechanical and electrical drawings, manage budgets, and coordinate startup, commissioning, and turnover activities. The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and travel within the DFW area.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building automation, HVAC controls, DDC, mechanical or electrical construction.
• Experience coordinating BAS/BMS or HVAC controls projects.
• Solid understanding of commercial HVAC systems and DDC controls.
• Experience coordinating controls technicians, electricians, subcontractors, and field personnel.
• Ability to read mechanical plans, electrical schematics, controls drawings, and construction documents.
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, change orders, and job costs.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Distech, ABB, or similar BAS tech.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites (DFW area).

Responsibilities

• Manage BAS/BMS and HVAC projects from kickoff through completion.
• Coordinate technicians, electricians, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and schedules.
• Serve as primary contact for customers, general contractors, and stakeholders.
• Review plans, specs, drawings, submittals, and schedules.
• Coordinate field installation, programming, startup, commissioning, turnover activities.
• Track budgets, labor hours, job costs, purchasing, change orders, and overall financials.
• Conduct jobsite visits and participate in coordination meetings.
• Identify project risks, resolve field issues, and keep projects on schedule.
• Maintain clear communication between field teams, engineering, programming, and customers.
• Ensure projects meet quality and contractual requirements.
