Job summary

Climate Systems, Inc. is hiring a Commercial HVAC Controls Programmer to convert project requirements into code for environmental control systems, and to troubleshoot and repair existing programs. The role involves testing, documentation, and collaboration with engineers and clients to ensure satisfied outcomes.

Expect interaction with customers and vendors, routine site visits, and occasional travel. The company emphasizes ESOP ownership and a supportive, team-driven environment in Sioux Falls.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in programming related study or equivalent and 2 - 5 years of experience in building automated control systems; or equivalent combination of education (technical school) and experience is required.
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with hand-held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
• Knowledge and programming experience of building automation control systems, specifically Schneider Electric Ecostruxure, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Convert project requirements into computer program code.
• Review shop drawings, data, and outputs with applications engineer, supervisor, and client to confirm requirements.
• Test and modify program sequence to ensure proper operation.
• Document program development and revisions with high quality standards.
• Follow manufacturer instructions, establish network connectivity, troubleshoot malfunctions, and coordinate repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, and modifications as needed by customers.
• Use software and tools and blueprints to diagnose and repair units.
• Maintain technical knowledge through continued education and professional networking.
• Research new technologies and adhere to productivity, quality and customer-service standards.
• Respond to emergency situations to resolve safety concerns.
• Travel to out-of-town assignments with possible overnight stays.
• Communicate effectively with customers, vendors and coworkers via phone, computer and in person.
• Perform other related duties to ensure efficient operations.
