Job summary

University of Michigan in Ann Arbor is seeking an HVAC Controls Specialist to install, repair, and maintain DDC, pneumatic, and electrical control systems across campus facilities.

You will read blueprints, interpret control sequences, and write software for DDC systems while coordinating with sustainability teams to optimize energy use and support carbon neutrality goals. Collaboration with Michigan Medicine Facilities Team is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school and specialized training in HVAC systems and DDC technology is necessary.
• Significant knowledge of tools and materials related to HVAC and DDC systems.
• Experience servicing DDC equipment at the component level is necessary.
• Some experience writing software for DDC systems related to HVAC is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain DDC equipment related to HVAC systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams for HVAC control systems.
• Diagnose HVAC problems and verify operation of components like dampers, valves, actuators, and sensors.
• Prepare reports on findings after troubleshooting DDC and related controls.
