Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC commissioning technician in the United States. You will perform system commissioning, diagnose basic HVAC problems, and respond to warranty calls while delivering high levels of service to customers.

The role requires a 2-year degree or equivalent experience, knowledge of HVAC controls, strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to program HVAC software. Safety training and documentation duties are included as part of daily tasks.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field or at least 2 years of industry experience or experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
• HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
• Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people; leadership to support mechanics on non-complex building automation work.
• PC experience and ability to program HVAC related software.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools; troubleshoots basic HVAC issues.
• Responds to basic warranty calls and provides on-site solutions to improve facility efficiency.
• Loads system-level controller software and performs diagnostics from controllers to end devices.
• Keeps management and customers informed of progress and issues; documents changes for as-built documentation.
• Provides quotes to support recommendations and ensures safe operation per safety standards.
