Overview

This role serves as a technical resource supporting Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) projects, with a primary focus on HVAC system optimization, operational performance, and verification of energy savings outcomes. Projects are typically complex, multi-building and multi-campus portfolios within higher education and healthcare environments, involving substantial mechanical infrastructure and advanced, integrated control strategies.

The position works closely with engineering and commissioning teams to evaluate existing BAS architecture, troubleshoot system performance issues, and deploy advanced HVAC sequences of operation across air and hydronic systems. Responsibilities include performing site assessments, analyzing trend data, developing and modifying DDC logic, validating sequence implementation, and supporting functional testing and ongoing optimization activities.

The Controls Analyst is expected to possess advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, BAS platforms, networked controls, and energy conservation measures, with a strong emphasis on high-performance building operations. The role requires the ability to translate engineering intent into effective control logic, lead complex troubleshooting efforts, and implement programming approaches that support scalable and repeatable energy savings outcomes.

Successful candidates demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, deep experience with retro-commissioning and HVAC optimization, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary project teams while maintaining a focus on quality, execution, and driving measurable operational performance improvements.
