Job summary

Southeastern Louisiana University is seeking an HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic to manage and service HVAC systems across campus, including chillers, boilers, air handlers and pumps. This role involves working with variable frequency drives and computerized controls to ensure efficient operation.

The candidate must hold EPA refrigerant recovery certification (Section 608) or obtain Type IV Universal certification within 60 days.

Qualifications

Job description

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Physical Plant Services invites applications for the position of HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic. This position is responsible for a variety of tasks relating to variable frequency drives, computerized HVAC controls for chillers, boilers, air handlers, and pumps.

Candidates must possess the appropriate EPA refrigerant recycling and recovery certification for technicians (as required under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act, 1990). southeastern requires a Type IV, Universal Certification. Please note that southeastern will allow the candidate selected for the job up to 60 days to acquire the required certification.

Schedule: Mon - Thurs 6:30 am - 4:00 pm, 45-minute lunch; Fri 6:30 am - 11: 30 am

Hourly Rate: $21.05

Minimum Qualifications
