Job summary

Jobtailor in Dallas, TX is seeking a seasoned Contractor Training Development professional to lead training programs for HVAC contractor networks, collaborating with store teams and vendors to close content gaps.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years in HVAC, contractor development, training, learning programs, distribution, manufacturer representative programs, or related field.
  • Experience developing marketing campaigns, training resources, content, communications, and customer engagement programs preferred.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and rectify problems without conflict.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to write proposals, reports, project plans, training guides, manuals, and promotional articles professionally.
  • Ability to present to small and large groups and use industry language to build trust.
  • Ability to influence and lead others to achieve business goals.
  • Ability to manage project life cycles and multiple rollouts, campaigns, and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to organize and track information, define project budgets, negotiate, and work within budget and contract requirements.

  • Ability to assess contractor learner needs, environmental factors, and job content to define training objectives.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and blended learning.
  • Experience supporting learning management systems (LMS) and learning technologies.
  • Ability to coach and support users in maximizing training platform capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook; strong Excel and BI experience helpful.
  • Experience with LMS reporting and learning technologies.
  • Understanding of basic business finance and promotional math, including discounting, margins, and ROI.
  • Ability to create and use Excel formulas and pivot tables.
  • HVAC-R industry operations, terminology, certifications, and workforce development knowledge preferred.
  • Wholesale distribution business model and customer engagement knowledge preferred.
  • Familiarity with instructional design and learning program development preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

  • Perform training needs assessments and recommend contractor training solutions and curriculum plans
  • Maintain and promote contractor training best practices, facilities, equipment, trainer competencies, curricula, materials, promotion, and safety compliance
  • Identify profitable contractor training opportunities and address stakeholder and customer pain points
  • Establish contractor feedback processes and curate new training content
  • Support stores in developing, housing, and selling contractor training content
  • Collaborate with content development teams and vendors to fill content gaps
  • Design and execute campaigns, advertising, outreach, and promotions to drive enrollment and completion
  • Manage national programs involving contractor training licenses, trade schools, suppliers, and resource providers
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Product, corporate marketing, and external suppliers
  • Present or support training topics at annual meetings, trade events, and seminars
  • Create business cases, plan projects, manage budgets, assess risks, provide status updates, and communicate results
