Job summary

Fidelity Mechanical Systems is seeking a seasoned Construction Sales Representative to join our Sparks, MD team. The role focuses on developing detailed estimates and proposals for mechanical construction projects, from small to large scale, and selling plan & spec and design/build work.

The ideal candidate will manage the bid process, coordinate with owners, developers and general contractors, and work with sales engineers to prioritize tasks.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years proven experience preparing estimates and proposals for commercial mechanical projects.
• Experience with plan/spec or design/build projects including plumbing, hydronic piping, and sheet metal.
• Ability to coordinate Mechanical Construction with other trades (Architectural/Structural etc.).
• Computer literate with MS Word, Excel, Outlook; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary and definitive estimates and proposals for labor, materials and equipment.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor and sub-contractor pricing for compliance with project specifications and drawings.
• Attend pre-bid site meetings, verify site conditions, and interface with Owners, Developers, and General Contractors.
• Manage the bid preparation and formal written proposal process in its entirety.
• Electronically maintain records of all working documents and data to back up estimates and proposals.
• Assist, organize, and prioritize work in conjunction with sales engineers.

The ideal candidate has an established presence in the Baltimore market and is highly skilled in all aspects of commercial mechanical estimating and selling plan & spec projects ranging from $5,000 - $2,000,000.

The Role at a Glance:

• Candidate must perform all aspects of developing preliminary and /or definitive detailed estimates and proposals for labor, materials, and equipment associated with mechanical construction projects encompassing plumbing, hydronic/weld piping, and sheet metal.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor and sub-contractor pricing for compliance with project specifications and drawings.
• Attend pre-bid site meetings, verify site conditions, and interface with Owners, Developers, and General Contractors.
• Manage the bid preparation and formal written proposal process in its entirety.
• Electronically maintain records of all working documents and data to back up estimates and proposals.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Minimum 3-5 years of proven successful experience preparing estimates and proposals for commercial mechanical projects utilizing computerized estimation and digital take-off software.
• Ability to provide a complete commercial mechanical construction estimate and proposal for either plan/spec or design/build projects including plumbing, hydronic piping, and sheet metal work.
• Ability to understand/coordinate Mechanical Construction with other building trades (Architectural/Structural etc.)
• Computer literate with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with strong communication and writing abilities.

Wage Range: Base Salary of $60,000 - $90,000 with a lucrative commission structure (immediate eligibility), and mileage reimbursement.

• Commensurate with experience. This range represents a general guideline; however, a number of factors are considered when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
