Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, seeks a Codes and Standards Engineer. You will influence and implement North American codes across HVAC products, ensuring compliance with ASHRAE, AHRI, UL, NFPA, and other bodies.

You will monitor regulatory changes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support certification activities to prevent delays and safeguard product launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years in HVAC engineering, regulatory, or codes and standards, or Master’s with 5+ years.
• Willing and able to travel up to 20%, domestically and internationally.
• Knowledge of HVAC codes and standards including ASHRAE, AHRI, UL, NFPA, ICC, CSA, ISO, IEC, California Title 20/24.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, interpret, and maintain expertise in HVAC and controls- related codes, standards, and certification requirements.
• Evaluate existing and proposed codes to quantify impacts on design, performance, safety and market access.
• Represent company on industry committees to influence codes and standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, quality, manufacturing, and compliance teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical guidance and training on regulatory matters to stakeholders and agencies.
• Lead compliance assessments, gap analyses, and technical documentation reviews for products and technologies.
• Develop product compliance strategies and SOPs for current and future regulations.
• Support third- party certification activities including testing, documentation, and audits.
• Track regulatory developments affecting HVAC equipment, energy efficiency, IAQ, sustainability, and building safety.
