Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking an HVAC technician to perform skilled installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems within the Building Maintenance Department.

The role requires a valid Georgia driver’s license and a CFC Recovery license, along with an HS diploma or GED and 2 years of HVAC experience. It includes after-hours on-call responsibilities and coordination with district personnel.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• HVAC technical training preferred.
• 2 years HVAC/refrigeration experience required.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled installation, preventive maintenance, repairs and operations of HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, cooling towers, pumps/motors, chillers, and direct digital control systems.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning HVAC/refrigeration equipment and controls.
• Install HVAC/refrigeration equipment per code.
• Maintain and regulate HVAC/refrigeration equipment.
• Record repairs and parts used per guidelines.
• Operate and maintain handheld work order/inventory devices.
