Job summary

Georgia Tech in Atlanta is seeking an experienced A/C Mechanic II for Housing and Residence Life to install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems on campus, including chilled water, refrigeration, and related equipment. The role provides guidance to lower-level staff and interfaces with supervision, managers, and vendors.

A minimum of four years of related experience is required, along with a Universal CFC refrigerant recovery license.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Universal CFC Refrigerant Recovery License required.
  • Four years of related experience required.
  • State of Georgia Unrestricted HVAC License is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, replace, operate, maintain, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot HVAC components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
  • Troubleshoot pneumatic, electrical, and digital controls.
  • May purchase and account for HVAC parts and materials.
  • May work with specialized computer applications.
  • Provide work direction to mechanics and maintenance personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
