Job summary

Legacy Placement Partners is seeking a Controls Service Technician II for the Dallas–Fort Worth area. This full-time, field-based role focuses on hands-on HVAC controls and building automation systems, with a strong emphasis on troubleshooting and system efficiency.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain controls components, read wiring diagrams, communicate with customers, and coordinate with the service team to ensure reliable building performance across sites in the DFW region.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience servicing commercial HVAC controls or building automation systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC equipment, electrical circuits and control sequences.
• Ability to troubleshoot routine controls issues independently.
• Experience with BAS platforms such as Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell or Schneider Electric.
• Familiarity with BACnet or Modbus communication protocols preferred.
• Strong communication, documentation, and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer locations throughout DFW.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC controls and building automation systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, system inspections, and operational testing.
• Troubleshoot controllers, sensors, actuators, control wiring, and communication issues.
• Review alarms, trends, schedules, and setpoints to identify system performance problems.
• Assist with programming changes, graphics updates, and system modifications.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, control drawings, and sequences of operation.
• Document service findings, completed repairs, and recommendations.
• Communicate professionally with customers and coordinate with the service team.
