Job summary

Eppstein Uhen Architects Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineering Project Specialist to contribute to HVAC design, BIM modeling, and construction documentation.

You will translate concepts into accurate Revit models and drawings, supporting coordination across disciplines on diverse building projects. The role offers hands-on experience in BIM workflows, engineering calculations, and collaborative project delivery within an integrated architecture and engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two-year technical degree in Mechanical Design, Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Open to EIT or Designer-track individuals.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, or other design software.
• Exposure to HVAC systems, building design, BIM workflows, or construction processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Pay range for this position is $60,000 to $95,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and layout of HVAC systems for commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and other building types by delivering accurate, reliable engineering analysis and design support.
• Perform engineering calculations, including heating and cooling load calculations, equipment selection, duct sizing, airflow analysis, and energy-related evaluations that meet performance, energy, budget, and code requirements.
• Apply engineering principles, building codes, and industry standards to project work.
• Develop and maintain Revit models and construction documents in accordance with project, client, and firm standards.
• Assist in preparing plans, schedules, details, diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Ensure timely resolution of clashes and conflicts by working closely with all project stakeholders to deliver coordinated, conflict-free designs.
• Participate in interdisciplinary BIM coordination and design reviews.
• Support efficient project delivery through quality modeling and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, designers, and other disciplines throughout the design process.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions regarding design solutions and project objectives.
• Communicate effectively with team members to support project execution and coordination.
• Contribute to integrated design solutions that support client and project goals.
