Job summary

Validated Custom Solutions (VCS) is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead Support Engineers and work with the sales team to validate equipment selections, pricing, and submittals. The role combines team leadership with hands-on technical mentoring across HVAC projects.

You will drive engineering standards, coordinate with manufacturers, and ensure timely proposals and orders while expanding capabilities in design and installation contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent training.
• 8+ years of HVAC support engineering experience.
• 1+ year of experience coaching and mentoring engineers.
• Deep technical knowledge of HVAC systems and manufacturers.
• Mastery of HVAC controls in new construction and renovations.
• Experience with construction drawings, specifications, schedules is a plus.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to operate independently and take ownership.

Responsibilities

• Lead Support Engineers and provide training and guidance.
• Manage policies, practices, and standards for department operation.
• Monitor metrics and drive performance improvements.
• Adopt tools and programs to boost efficiency.
• Participate in selection and annual performance reviews.
• Collaborate with sales engineers to assess HVAC needs and system requirements.
• Provide high-level technical training for offices to optimize programs.
• Assist in designing HVAC systems and integrating VCS offerings.
• Prepare scopes of work, proposals, and pricing with sales engineers.
• Validate equipment selections and process orders with manufacturers.
• Review manufacturer acknowledgements for accuracy.
• Continuously learn about HVAC systems and new technologies.
• Maintain records of product updates and improvements.
• Facilitate turnover from sales to operations.
• Other duties as assigned.
