Job summary

Aiken Technical College is seeking HVAC Adjunct Instructors to teach residential and commercial HVAC courses. Classes may meet daytime, evenings, weekends, or online, with split schedules and potential dual enrollment in local high schools.

Ideal candidates hold an HVAC-related degree with industry experience and will develop syllabi and curricula, supervise students, and maintain course quality. This part-time role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities to contribute to program

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in HVAC or related discipline with five years' direct HVAC/R experience.
• Knowledge of commercial HVAC/R systems (air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration).
• Ability to work in a team and independently with sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Instruction including hands-on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks such as reports, syllabi, and lesson plans.
• Prepare and maintain current course syllabi.
• Ensure course is taught per established syllabi.
• Recommend instructional materials for the course.
• Recommend facilities/equipment for the course.
• Supervision of students.

Join our team! Aiken Technical College is recruiting HVAC Adjunct Instructors.

Class schedules will vary from semester to semester. Classes may meet in the daytime, evenings, weekends, or online. Faculty may be asked to work a split schedule (morning and evening classes) as well as teach dual enrollment courses in assigned high schools.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Instruction including hands on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks that may include reports, syllabus and lesson plan development.
• Prepare and/or maintain current course syllabi for course taught.
• Ensure that course is taught in accordance with the established syllabi.
• Recommend for approval adequate instructional materials for course.
• Recommend adequate laboratory facilities/equipment for assigned course.
• Supervision of students.

Associate's degree in HVAC or a related industrial discipline with five (5) years of direct experience in residential and commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration. Knowledge and experience in commercial air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration systems is required. The applicant must be able to work in a team environment utilizing effective communication skills. The applicant must also be able to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and be able to develop programs and curricula to meet industry needs.
