Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a Substation Foreman to lead planning, layout, installation, testing, and maintenance of high voltage substation wiring and equipment on critical infrastructure projects in Mississippi.

You will supervise craft workers, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate with the project team. This full-time role requires working knowledge of high voltage systems, leadership abilities, and a strong commitment to safety, scheduling, and field execution in demanding

Qualifications

Must have working experience as a Substation Journeyman or equivalent combination of education and experience in an industrial construction setting.
Strong working knowledge of the project specifications and high voltage electrical and civil industry standards.
Must have working knowledge of electrical substation components, auto-level and transit for accurate lay-out and verification of finished grades, fabrication and erection of forms with thorough knowledge of steel framed forms.

Responsibilities

Direct and supervise the planning, lay-out, installation, testing, repair, or maintenance of high voltage substation wiring and equipment.
Plan and coordinate the efforts of the craft workers under supervision and motivate them to work safely and efficiently.
Ensure safety procedures are followed; lead and participate in pre-job safety planning and toolbox talks; monitor and report accidents and near misses.
