Job summary

Southern Electric Corporation is seeking an experienced substation construction leader in Flowood, MS. The role focuses on directing day-to-day on-site operations for below-grade foundations, coordinating field teams and subcontractors, and ensuring work meets specifications and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has extensive substation experience with strong scheduling, budgeting, and leadership skills, plus a working knowledge of drawings and contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred in construction/electrical fields.
• Proven lead experience on substation and heavy civil construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, safety, and quality controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day construction operations from mobilization through closeout.
• Manage field teams, subcontractors, superintendents, inspectors and project personnel.
• Ensure work complies with specs, drawings, quality and contractual requirements.
• Enforce safety policies and OSHA regulations across sites.
• Monitor schedules, productivity, costs, and resources to meet milestones.
• Coordinate with PM, engineering, procurement, environmental, and QA teams.
• Conduct site inspections and manage change orders and daily records.
• Support commissioning and project turnover to client.
