Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a union field technician to test, inspect, and maintain electrical power equipment across the upper Midwest. You will work with switching gear, transformers, and cables, traveling to job sites with union benefits and pension.

Openings range from Level I through IV, with opportunities to lead apprentices and junior technicians. A valid driver's license is required, and relocation is available if needed.

Qualifications

• NETA certification at any level or electrical experience toward certification.
• Experience with power factor or HV testing is a plus.
• Willingness to travel 50–75% for field assignments.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Test, inspect and maintain switchgear, breakers, transformers and cable.
• Operate high-voltage test equipment including power factor test sets.
• Commission new installations and support outages and emergency calls.
• Lead and mentor apprentices and junior technicians at senior levels.
