Job summary

NextEra Energy is seeking an HV Strike Team Technician I to support HV maintenance, testing, and NERC outage execution across the NEER fleet. The role requires reading DC schematics, one-line diagrams, relay drawings, and field work packages.

Travel of 40%–50% is expected, with occasional night/weekend coverage. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to outage windows, with potential site-based duties at renewables locations and a focus on compliant, well-documented turnover

Qualifications

• High School Grad / GED.
• 4+ years of high voltage experience.
• Valid driver’s license (NON-CDL).
• Associate's Degree preferred; CDL beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine work in construction and maintenance of substation, transmission, and collection system equipment.
• Work with data communication equipment and associated systems.
• Report and coordinate emergency response and repair to high-voltage equipment and systems within a defined geographic area.
• Establish and maintain high voltage inventory, equipment, and vehicles per safety and maintenance standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to safely complete outages and ensure compliance.
