Barnes & Noble College is hiring a Campus Retail Associate to provide exceptional customer service and support store operations in our campus bookstore. The role focuses on greeting customers, processing sales, and maintaining a clean, organized space.

Positions are seasonal and may include weekends with flexible scheduling during peak periods; benefits include employee discounts and opportunities for development.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.

• Support store operations including operating equipment and cash register while ensuring speed and accuracy.
• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products or space within the store.
• Seasonal positions require work during peak periods and flexible scheduling.
• Routine housekeeping including dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal.

Responsibilities

Expectations:

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Provide a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers and focusing on their positive experience throughout their visit.
• Take initiative to support store operations including operating equipment and cash register while ensuring speed of service and accurate transactions.
• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products or space within the store.
• Seasonal positions require work during peak periods (i.e. semester starts and ends), occasional weekends, andflexibility in schedulingto work periodically during the school year.
• Routine housekeeping including, for example, dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and/or products.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Frequent lifting.
• Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.

Maine Pay Transparency Information (Only applicable in Maine stores):

Pay: Seasonal Bookseller pay rate: $15.50/hr.
