Barnes & Noble College in Maine is seeking a Campus Retail Associate to provide superior customer service and support store operations, helping the store run smoothly during peak academic periods.

You will greet customers, process sales including cash, credit, or financial aid payments, stock shelves, and keep the store inviting. The role offers flexible scheduling, employee discounts on materials, and opportunities through our Management Development Program.

Responsibilities

Expectations:

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.


• Provide a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers and focusing on their positive experience throughout their visit.


• Take initiative to support store operations including operating equipment and cash register while ensuring speed of service and accurate transactions.


• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products or space within the store.


• Seasonal positions require work during peak periods (i.e. semester starts and ends), occasional weekends, andflexibility in schedulingto work periodically during the school year.


• Routine housekeeping including, for example, dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and/or products.


• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.


• Frequent lifting.


• Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.

Maine Pay Transparency Information (Only applicable in Maine stores):

Pay: Seasonal Bookseller pay rate: $15.50/hr.
