Job summary

Scheels in Fargo, ND is seeking a Merchandiser to unload freight, restock and display merchandise, and assist customers on the sales floor. You will follow shop guides, coordinate with managers, and maintain tidy back stock areas while working with a team and occasionally varying hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 months of related experience. Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects is required.

Responsibilities

  • Unload product from freight, tag, fold, hang, and price merchandise for the floor or back stock.
  • Restock merchandise on the sales floor and bring products to the floor for display.
  • Assist customers and sales associates with retrieving and loading purchased products.
  • Follow shop leadership checklists, notes, and merch guides to prioritize shop needs.
  • Coordinate with Specialty Shop Managers and display teams on shop moves and mannequin placement.
  • Maintain an orderly appearance with cleaning and organization in store and back stock areas.
  • Work independently and with the team; multitask and show problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to be organized, multitask, have problem-solving skills, and maintain all aspects of a merchandiser role
  • Ability to work independently and with the team
  • Exercise judgment and tact, and be able to effectively work with all levels within the organization
  • Demonstrates attention to detail
  • Willing to do other tasks as assigned by the leadership team and Merchandising Lead
  • Work assigned schedule; may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), 1-3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Very heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for heavy work.
