Job summary

Turner’s Outdoorsman in Paso Robles, CA is seeking a Hunting Department Manager to support store leadership and drive sales. You will supervise department operations, train staff, and ensure a safe, high-value shopping experience for firearm customers.

The role requires at least two years in retail leadership, knowledge of hunting and shooting sports, and the ability to handle firearms and heavy merchandise.

Qualifications

• High school graduate (or GED) required; college progress preferred.
• At least 2 years of prior retail and sales experience in a lead position.
• Knowledge about Hunting, Fishing/Tackle, & Shooting Sports.
• Legally eligible to work in a firearms environment.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• May require Certificate of Eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for operations of the Department.
• Provides excellent customer service and salesmanship.
• Effectively advertises and promotes Turner’s Outdoorsman products and events.
• Ensures customers enjoy a full service and high value shopping experience.
• Receives stock and displays merchandise.
• Releases customer firearms.
• Sources, places and follows up on orders.
• Responsible for audit records accuracy.
• Responsible for accurately receiving merchandise.
• Responsible for loading/unloading truck-- lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Perform other duties as assigned which includes but not limited to covering employee breaks and/or lunches in other departments as needed
