Job summary

Austin Classical School seeks a dedicated Rhetoric School Humanities Teacher & Curriculum Coordinator to teach upper-level history or literature and align humanities curriculum for grades 7–12. The role involves five sections, weekly planning, supervision of Study Hall, and helping shape student culture while coordinating with grade teams and administration.

Qualifications

Minimum of five years teaching experience, preferably in a classical school.
Advanced degree in History, Literature, or a closely related field.
Must joyfully affirm the ACS Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

Teach five upper-level history or literature sections (7th–12th).
Prepare weekly lesson plans and on-campus schedule 7:40 AM–4:00 PM M–Th.
Supervise Study Hall and fulfill duty rotations (morning/chapel, lunch, flex).
Help shape student culture and contribute to conduct reports.
Oversee humanities curriculum mapping, alignment, and evaluation for 7th–12th.
Coordinate with 5th/6th grade teams and other coordinators for cross-curricular work.
Participate in curriculum review meetings and summer development.
