Providence Preparatory School seeks a part‑time History teacher for two sections of 9th Grade Humanities I (Antiquity through the 5th Century). The position is on-site in Belton, TX, with a blended schedule that includes campus class days and virtual office hours from home days.
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in History, have teaching experience or strong academic excellence in the period, and demonstrate a passion for classical, Christ‑centered education.
Providence Preparatory School is an interdenominational Christian, classical, and collaborative school founded in 2010 in Belton, Texas that serves 450 students in Pre‑K through 12th grades. Providence Secondary School students (7th‑12th grades) attend class three days per week with professional faculty and study at home under the tutelage of a parent co‑teacher two days per week. Duties and Responsibilities
This position involves two sections of 9th Grade Humanities I: Antiquity (Creation through the 5th Century) for both the Fall and Spring semesters. The overarching goal of the Humanities class is to survey the significant cultures and events of world history using the classical approach to history known as Moral Philosophy. Each class is 55 minutes long and meets on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at our campus in downtown Belton. On Mondays and Wednesdays, “home days” according to our collaborative schedule, teachers are not required to be on campus, although they are required to be available to help students via phone during 90‑minute “virtual office hours,” scheduled at the teacher’s convenience. This position is part‑time. Excluding prep, grading, and faculty meeting time, this teacher can expect two 60 minute periods of active work three days per week.
Education and Experience
This position requires a bachelor’s degree and History teaching experience (or demonstrated academic excellence and expertise in the time period to be taught).
