Human Services Office Manager

Full-Time | On-Site | Entry-Level to Mid-Level
Grade 9 $28.98-$34.09
The Waupaca County Department of Human Services is seeking a highly organized and motivated Human Services Office Manager to oversee key administrative operations and provide direct support to department leadership. This role is vital in ensuring smooth day-to-day functions while also serving as a liaison with the State of Wisconsin and acting in several compliance and oversight capacities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct, confidential administrative support to the DHS Director and Deputy Director.
Supervise reception and program assistant staff; oversee training and performance evaluation.
Serve as the department’s Client Rights Specialist, HIPAA Compliance Officer, Civil Rights Officer, and County Security Officer for DHS and Child Support.
Act as liaison to the State of Wisconsin for security, client data systems, staff training, and reporting.
Manage department technology and communications (cell phones, printers, copiers) and DHS vehicle fleet coordination.
Conduct background checks and maintain agency records on the county network.
Participate in department committees and provide back-up coverage to administrative staff as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Services or a related field.
Minimum three (3) years of related experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong supervisory, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Comfortable with technology and learning various software programs.
Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) is a plus.
