Job summary

Kinship Community Food Center in Milwaukee is seeking a compassionate Human Services Associate to provide holistic case management, crisis intervention, and mentorship to individuals and families facing adversity. You will work within a trauma-informed, relationship-centered framework and support a volunteer mentorship program.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of professional experience in human services, volunteer management, community engagement, or related field.
• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate holistic care management support by guiding the relationship-centered volunteer mentorship program and ensuring compassionate follow-through for community members.
• Conduct intakes, identify underlying needs, and provide crisis intervention to support long-term healing, stability, and growth.
• Cultivate and expand community partnerships to improve access to housing, healthcare, employment, and essential services.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop volunteer mentors; provide ongoing mentor support and training.
• Provide mentorship support through regular debriefing, guidance, and problem-solving to sustain mentor engagement.
• Maintain confidential participant and program records with strict confidentiality.
• Collaborate with the broader Human Services team to align goals, streamline referrals, and support organizational growth.
