Passaic County Community College is seeking an Academic Specialist for Human Services in Paterson, NJ. The role is twelve months with a 35-hour work week, teaching up to 12 hours weekly and supporting students during field placements.

Required: MSW; NJ CSW/LSW preferred; 1+ year teaching, admin, and fieldwork liaison in higher ed; strong communication and Blackboard LMS familiarity. Salary $60,000; comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Must have MSW degree.
• NJ CSW or LSW certification/licensure preferred.
• At least one year teaching in higher education.
• At least one year administrative experience in higher education.
• At least one year as fieldwork liaison in higher education.
• Two years in program, policy, or management in social work or related field.
• Commitment to a diverse student population.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
• Familiarity with Blackboard LMS.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 12 hours per week, day and evening classes.
• Execute administrative tasks and programs as assigned.
• Assist in certifying students for fieldwork and evaluating sites.
• Recruit and mentor students through field application process.
• Conduct field visits and monitor student performance.
• Travel locally to meet with students and agency representatives.
• Assist in training and supervision of field liaisons.
• Participate in curriculum development and program assessment.
• Use research-based data to promote student retention and completion.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
