Qualifications

Job description

Under the administrative supervision of the Chief Human Resources Officer or designated administrator, provide and lead the training and development initiatives across our university system, comprised of UNH, PSU, KSC and the system office. This role will play a crucial part in enhancing employee skills, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and supporting the professional growth of staff members across all campuses.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Training Strategy and Program Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive training and development strategy that aligns with the unique missions and strategic goals of each institution within the university system.
  • Collaboration and Alignment: Partner closely with HR leaders, institutional executives, and department heads across the organization to identify development/training needs and priorities. Ensure alignment of training/development programs with organizational objectives and initiatives.
  • Training Program Management: Oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of training/development programs and initiatives tailored to the diverse needs of faculty, staff, and leadership across the university system. Programs may include leadership development, compliance training, technical skills training, and onboarding programs.
  • Learning Management System (LMS): Manage and optimize the use of the university system’s Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver and track training programs effectively. Ensure the LMS meets the specific needs of each institution and supports continuous learning and development.
  • Evaluation and Continuous Improvement: Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of training programs. Analyze training data and participant feedback to continuously improve program content, delivery methods, and overall impact.
  • Compliance and Policy Adherence: Ensure all training programs comply with regulatory requirements and adhere to university policies and procedures. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices within higher education and externally for training and development.
  • Leadership Development: Collaborate with institutional leaders to identify and develop leadership talent within the university system. Support succession planning efforts and foster a pipeline of future leaders.
  • Prosperous Partnership for Success:Working collaboratively with Recruiting team to identify success factors for roles to construct a talent pipeline. Build a talent blueprint working with Leaders and HR Business Partners to create an environment of development where internal candidates are identified for growth opportunities and capitalize on our succession planning tool.
  • Employee Engagement: Promote a culture of learning and development that enhances employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention across the three institutions. Support initiatives that contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Active Member of Human Resource Community:Actively engage with all teams within HR to cultivate an environment of development that will infiltrate all campuses and offices that promotes an environment of growth and development.
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Higher Education Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in training and development roles within higher education or a complex organizational setting, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity, including experience in managing and utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS) for training delivery.
Other Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training delivery techniques suitable for a diverse academic and administrative audience.
  • Experience managing Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training technology platforms.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate organizational goals into effective training and development strategies and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify resources and medium in which development will be successful for the individual, group or organization.
  • Work with diverse academic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of faculty and staff and students.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Utilize Workday and other tools to create an environment of professional development for employees and the organization, fostering continuous learning and growth.
  • Experience with instructional design principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with learning assessment tools and techniques.
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.

Compensation Pay Range:

$72,980.00 - $130,670.00
