We are looking for an energetic HR professional to support the HR Analyst and HR Manager on protecting our workplace and our people. In this role, you will be the go-to expert for everything related to risk management, from handling workers' compensation claims to keeping a close eye on general liability.

Risk Management & Workers' Compensation Focus
Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by college coursework in human resources, public administration, or a related field and two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in various human resources functions, including recruitments, benefits, leave administration, payroll programs, and workers' compensation. Experience in a public agency is highly desirable.
Licenses and Certifications:
Foreign degrees require an evaluation of U.S. equivalency by an agency that is a member of the National Association of Credential Services (N.A.C.E.S.).
Human Resources (HR) reviews all application materials to determine whether candidates meet the established minimum and preferred qualifications. Those who qualify will be advanced to the next stage of the recruitment process. All applicants will receive email notifications regarding their status.
Application Screening (Refer/Non-Refer): Applications and supplemental materials will be reviewed to identify candidates whose qualifications best align with the essential requirements of the position. Eligible List: Once the appraisal has been completed, HR will establish an eligible list of candidates. Candidates placed on the eligible list may be referred to a selection interview to be considered for present and future vacancies.
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; to operate a motor vehicle to visit various City and meeting sites; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing and walking between work areas is required. Employees in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to potentially hazardous physical substances. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures and City codes.
