It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. We have a mission that matters!Description of WorkThis position is located at Bertie Correctional Institution in Windsor, NC. Reporting to the Administrative Officer at a multi-level custody male correctional facility with approximately 275 employees.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management PreferencesThe primary duties of this position will include but are not limited to:• Maintain and update employee personnel records and HR databases.• Process new-hire, transfer, promotion, leave, and termination paperwork. • Assist with onboarding and orientation• Maintain confidential employee files and ensure records are properly organized and retained• Assist with benefit enrollment, changes and employee inquires• Process and maintain documentation related to leave, attendance, accommodations, and other employee matters• Assist employees and supervisors with routine HR questions and requests.This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. Work Schedule is Monday – Friday, 8hr/day schedule.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences:Salary Range: $33,902 - $59,327Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
