Job summary

The U.S. Army Transportation Command, Personnel & Manpower Directorate, Military Personnel Division, located at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, seeks a Human Resources Specialist (Military).

The incumbent will plan and coordinate the formulation of policies and programs for highly sensitive officer and/or enlisted personnel management actions and programs. This role requires experience with military personnel policies and input and verification of data in HR systems such as IPPS-A, NSIPS, AFIPPS

Qualifications

  • One year of specialized experience applying military personnel policies to support officer and enlisted actions.
  • Experience using military HR systems such as IPPS-A, NSIPS, AFIPPS, or legacy systems to input and verify personnel data.
  • Ability to review personnel or manpower requirements and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Ability to prepare clear written guidance or analyses to support command decisions.

About the Position

This position is with U.S. Army Transportation Command, Personnel & Manpower Directorate, Military Personnel Division, located at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. The incumbent serves as a Human Resources Specialist (Military) responsible for planning and coordinating the formulation of policies and programs for highly sensitive officer and/or enlisted personnel management actions and programs.

Specialized Experience

One year of specialized experience which includes:

  • (1) applying military personnel policies to support officer and enlisted actions;
  • (2) using military HR systems such as IPPS A, NSIPS, AFIPPS, or legacy systems to input and verify personnel data;
  • (3) Reviewing new personnel or manpower requirements and provide recommendations to leadership;
  • (4) preparing clear written guidance or analyses to support command decisions.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement

Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
