Job summary

Resource Management Concepts, Inc. (RMC) is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support NSWC Indian Head in Indian Head, MD. You will assist managers and staff in recruitment, job classification, development, performance management, benefits, labor and employee relations, and HR processes.

You will prepare documentation, maintain records, and help write objectives and descriptions while coordinating calendars and communications in a fast-paced government setting.

Qualifications

• An Associate's degree in HR, management, business administration, or related field; two years of federal HR experience, or HS diploma with three years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and excellent communication skills; knowledge of DoD/Navy HR processes preferred.
• Security Clearance: An active DoD Secret clearance is required to start.

Responsibilities

• Support managers and employees in personnel areas including recruitment, job classification, and performance management.
• Assist with benefits, labor relations, employee relations, and HR data entry in various systems.
• Prepare letters, position descriptions, and addendums; assist with calendars, meetings, and correspondence.

RMC is hiring a Human Resource Specialist to support our customer at NSWC Indian Head, in Indian Head, MD. The selected applicant shall provide professional assistance to managers and employees in various personnel areas of human resources to include: recruitment, job classification, employee development, performance management/awards, employee benefits, labor relations, and employee relations. Tasks include:

• Inputting/extracting/compiling information in/from various data systems, preparing and routing personnel actions, assisting managers with writing performance objectives/expectations, position descriptions, and addendums.
• Preparing career ladder requirements for the different job series in the office, preparing and updating letters and correspondence with proper grammar and formatting following guidance outlined in the Navy Correspondence Manual.
• Creating and maintaining multiple appointments, meeting requests, and calendars in Microsoft Outlook.
• Copying and filing, scanning documents, answering phone calls and visitors appropriately, or taking messages as necessary.
• Assisting specialists within the office on human resources-related tasks.

Requirements

• An Associate's degree in human resources, management, business administration, or other relevant fields. Two (2) years of recent experience in analyzing, managing, and improving major aspects of human resources, organizational processes, and functions, with a minimum of one (1) year in a Federal Agency environment. A High School Diploma or GED equivalent and three (3) years of experience may be substituted for the Associate’s degree.
• The selected applicant must have a strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and excellent communication skills. Knowledge of DoD and Navy processes, specifically related to Human Resources, is preferred.

• Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements.
• The current annual salary range for this position will be $55,000 to $60,000.
