Job summary

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience performing administrative support functions.
  • Technical aptitude and computer literacy, including database systems.
  • Ability to quickly learn, adapt to, and manage database systems.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and enterprise databases.
  • Organizational skills to maintain regulatory and document compliance.
  • Ability to complete background checks, identity verification, and government access requirements.
  • Ability to complete Information Assurance awareness training.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HR administrative support for the USASD contract, providing HR, personnel, pay, records, finance, help desk, and travel support.
  • Process soldier in-processing and out-processing actions and maintain government systems data.
  • Process personnel actions in IPPS-A, promotions, awards, reassignments, leave, separations, and reports.
  • Code pay entitlements and deductions; manage special duty pay and government-approved deductions.
  • Maintain official military records in iPERMS; upload orders and certificates.
  • Operate automated finance systems to manage soldier finance actions.
  • Provide help desk support to the student population via email, Teams, and phone.
  • Coordinate travel for personnel through DTS and ATTRS and assist with vouchers.

Job description

We are seeking a Human Resources Specialist to lead the U.S. Army Student Detachment (USASD) Human Resources Administrative Support contract. This project will provide administrative, human resources, and financial management support services for approximately 1,700 Army students worldwide. This is an on-site position at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, working 40 hours per week between 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

So, what will the Human Resources Specialist at Terrestris do?

The Human Resources Specialist will work on the USASD Human Resources Administrative Support contract, providing human resources, personnel, pay, records, finance, help desk, and travel support for Army students. This position is contingent upon contract award.

What does a typical day look like for a Human Resources Specialist?

You will:

  • Process soldier in-processing andout-processing actions, including conducting digital records reviews,building in-processing packets, verifying assignment orders, updating studentinformation in Government systems, and updating the unit personnel trackingdatabase within one business day of arrival or departure.
  • Prepare and process personnel actions inIPPS-A, including promotions, awards, reassignments,leave requests, and separations, and prepare and submit required personnelaccounting and strength management reports.
  • Process and code pay entitlements, specialactions, and deductions, including initiating, adjusting, and stoppingpay and allowances, processing special duty pay, and managing deductionsapproved by Government decision authorities.
  • Maintain official military personnel records iniPERMS, including uploading assignment orders,promotion orders, award certificates, academic records, and other requireddocuments.
  • Operate automated finance systems to managesoldier finance actions, including CEDEMS, CMS, DJMS, DMO, MMPA,CITIBANK Commercial Card systems, and SmartVoucher.
  • Operate IPPS-A and iPERMSto manage soldier data and track administrative actions, monitor updates toFinance and HR publications to ensure compliance, and complete mandatoryGovernment-provided training.
  • Provide help desk support to the studentpopulation, managing and responding to customer inquiriesreceived through email, Microsoft Teams chat, and phone within requiredresponse timelines.
  • Manage travel for assigned personnel throughDTS and ATTRS, including creating authorizations andassisting with travel vouchers for submission to Government approvalauthorities.
What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we’re looking for if you have:

  • Authorization to permanently work in the UnitedStates without sponsorship.
  • Two (2) years of experience performingadministrative support functions.
  • Technicalaptitude and computer literacy, to include expertise in managing, coordinating,and controlling the execution of assigned tasks.
  • Abilityto quickly learn, adapt to, and manage database systems.
  • Demonstratedproficiency with standard office software and enterprise databases.
  • Organizationalskills to maintain regulatory and document compliance.
  • Abilityto complete required background checks, personal identity verification,installation access screening, and Government information system accessrequirements.
  • Ability to complete Information Assuranceawareness training at the beginning of performance and annually thereafter.
