Job summary

Kimley-Horn in San Antonio, TX is seeking an HR Business Partner to join our Human Resources team in-office. This role focuses on employee relations, benefits, and talent development to support regional needs.

The successful candidate will handle new hire orientations, leave management, performance discussions, training programs, and cross-functional projects with limited supervision. Travel about 20% is required.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of related experience including employee relations experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Human Resources or related field.
  • Daily travel to support the region, approx. 20%; overnight travel occasionally.
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor and employment law.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and HRIS systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organization and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with regional and firm-wide teams.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP strongly preferred.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Human Resources (HR) Business Partner to join our San Antonio, Texas (TX) office on their HR team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • Propose solutions and engage partners in the areas of retention efforts, general employee relations support, performance management, terminations, teambuilding, complaint/conflict resolution, and career development
  • Conduct new hire orientations and lead the integration planning for new hires at all levels
  • Serve as a benefits point-of-contact by responding to questions and educating employees on company benefit programs
  • Manage leaves of absence, including FMLA and workers’ compensation
  • Develop and facilitate multiple training programs
  • Manage special projects that have region-wide and/or company-wide impact
