Job summary

Reser’s Fine Foods is seeking a senior HR leader to manage and develop the HR and payroll team at a production facility. The role guides safety practices, recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement, while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years HR experience including supervisory responsibilities, a HR-related bachelor’s degree, and strong knowledge of HRIS and MS Office. Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) may be required by location.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years HR experience; 2+ years in supervision
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field or equivalent
  • Excellent computer skills; MS Office and HRIS
  • Knowledge of federal, state, local employment laws
  • Maintain confidentiality; strong written/verbal skills
  • PHR/SPHR preferred; bilingual English/Spanish depending on location

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • 1. Leads, supports, and develops a team of HR and payroll staff
  • 2. Provides guidance and support on safety activities and practices
  • 3. Directs site recruiting, onboarding, and retention programs, supporting proactive and positive employee engagement.
  • 4. Advises leadership team on managing non-routine situations in addition to providing guidance on HR program, policies, and practices.
  • 5. Educates and guides production employees on HR programs, policies, and practices
  • 6. Ensures production facility compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • 7. Educates employees on company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • 8. Investigates employee relations matters providing recommendations to management and helping to bring matters to resolution
  • 9. Responsible for management of state and federal leaves and Worker’s Compensation program management
  • 10. Provides oversight of time and attendance tracking for payroll for the location
  • 11. Oversees production facility training programs, development programs and initiatives
  • 12. Manages and evaluates production safety program for compliance and effectiveness
  • 13. May develop and help manage production facility recognition programs and employee events
  • 14. Partners with Corporate HR teams to manage risk and escalated situations
  • 15. Regular attendance and punctuality required
Job Specifications
  • 1. 5+ years Human Resources experience is required; at least 2 years in a supervisory role desired.
  • 2. Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or a related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • 3. Must have excellent computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office and HRIS experience.
  • 4. Must demonstrate knowledge in all federal, state, and local employment laws and procedures.
  • 5. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • 6. Excellent written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills.
  • 7. PHR/SPHR certification is preferred.
  • 8. English/Spanish bilingual is preferred and may be required dependent on the location.
Working Conditions
  • 1. Office, production, and warehouse environments.
  • 2. The environment may be wet or dry and temperatures may range from 25°F to 110°F.

This position is eligible for a bonus based on company goals/performance.
