We are seeking a hands-on Human Resources Manager at SBM Life Science to manage human resources processes for the SBM Pasadena, TX sites. This newly created on-site role will report directly to the Head of Human Resources, located in Cary, NC. The HR Manager will carry out all recruiting and onboarding efforts for all sites in Texas, for 80+ employees. The HR Manager will also handle employee relations issues that arise, performance, training, and compliance. This role will provide Human Resources support to ensure alignment with business objectives and company success.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. High School Diploma required
- 3-5 years of human resources experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial setting
- Experience handling full cycle recruitment and onboarding of new hires
- Experience using an ATS/HRIS system (ADP Workforce Now preferred)
- Experience with investigations and documenting summaries

- Ability to manage conflict and employee relations issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with plant leadership and corporate HR.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)
- Ability to communicate in Spanish and English
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding:
- Management of the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, drafting and extending offers of employment to candidates for Pasadena locations
- Assisting with the development and implementation of effective recruitment strategies to attract, train and retain top talent
- Assisting with managing all third-party staffing agency relationships in Pasadena
- Onboarding all new hires through background check facilitation, coordination of pre-onboarding paperwork, creating first week schedule, and presenting Orientation.
Employee Relations:
- Manage employee relations by communicating, investigating, and resolving any employee questions, issues, or concerns that arise.
- Mediate and resolve employee conflicts in a timely, appropriate, and confidential manner
- Implement and enforce employee relations policies and procedures for Pasadena
- Lead full investigations alongside corporate HR as needed
Performance Management & Training:
- Provide support to Pasadena supervisors and management on performance evaluations and feedback
- Identify training needs and assist with implementing training programs
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Ensure adherence to company policies and labor laws specific to shift work, overtime, and workplace safety at Pasadena sites.
- Ensure a safe work environment for the employees; Partner with HSE Manager to manage, report, investigate and monitor workplace accidents and incidents
- Complete I-9 and E-Verify in ADP for new hires and reverifications as needed
- Refer employees for FMLA and leave of absences
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional domestic travel between SBM locations in Texas and corporate headquarters in North Carolina.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel between SBM locations in Texas.
