Human Resources Manager – Cedar Rapids, IA

This is a full-time, exempt position

Summary

The Human Resources (HR) Manager provides consultative support and partnership to leaders and colleagues at the Cedar Rapids, IA Corn Plants and CoGenerational facility. The role drives critical human capital initiatives and business results, leading activities related to colleague engagement, workforce management, performance management, talent development, succession planning, diversity and inclusion, communications, and change management. The HR Manager influences overall business performance and engagement by offering strategic, creative, and collaborative leadership across the facility. The role involves diagnosing issues and opportunities proactively and taking necessary actions for timely resolution. Building strong cross-functional relationships and understanding HR policies, laws, and regulations are essential for success. This position aligns HR strategies with site-specific implementation plans.

What We’re Looking For
  • Flexible schedule to meet facility needs, including mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends as required.
  • On-site presence at the manufacturing facility, with physical and environmental considerations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 6 years of HR experience with increasing responsibility, including 4 years as an HR generalist across multiple disciplines (e.g., workforce planning, talent acquisition, career development)
  • Leadership experience, with or without direct reports
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams with exempt and non-exempt staff
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years managing cross-functional teams in union and non-union settings
  • Master’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field
  • Experience working across multiple locations for 2 years
  • At least 1 year in a leadership role
  • Experience developing and facilitating training programs
  • Experience as a strategic business partner within an organization
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR)
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environments

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range is estimated between $71,800.00 and $134,500.00, depending on various factors. This role may include a salaried incentive plan with an annual bonus. Benefits include health, dental, vision, wellness programs, financial wellness options, mental health support, paid time off, parental leave, tuition assistance, and training resources. Benefits may vary by location.
