Job Title: Hotel Human Resources Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Manager with expertise in payroll management for our hotel. This key role will play a critical part in shaping and maintaining a positive workplace culture as the hotel undergoes a rebranding process. The HR Manager will oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management and compliance with labor laws, ensuring these align with the hotel's new vision and values. This position requires a deep understanding of human resources practices and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Human Resources Management:

    • Oversee recruitment and staffing processes for the hotel, ensuring alignment with the hotel’s new culture and brand identity.
    • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that reflect the rebranding efforts, fostering a cohesive and positive workplace environment.
    • Manage onboarding and orientation programs that introduce new hires to the hotel’s rebranded values and culture.
    • Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, promoting engagement, and creating initiatives to support the evolving culture.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies, collective bargaining agreements (if applicable), and employment laws.
    • Lead performance management processes, including setting goals, conducting evaluations, and supporting professional development initiatives aligned with the hotel’s new direction.
    • Coordinate training and development programs that enhance skills and help employees embrace the hotel’s rebranding vision.
    • Maintain detailed records of employee attendance, overtime, and benefits.
    • Ensure the accurate calculation of salaries, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation elements benefits and garnishments.
    • Maintain confidentiality of employee compensation and personal information
  2. Culture Building and Employee Engagement:

    • Actively contribute to the hotel’s rebranding efforts by creating HR programs and initiatives that strengthen employee alignment with the new culture and brand identity.
    • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that supports collaboration, creativity, and engagement among staff.
    • Design and implement employee recognition and reward programs that align with the hotel’s new values.
    • Organize team-building activities and cultural events that reflect the hotel’s rebranding and foster employee connection.
  3. Compliance & Legal:

    • Stay current with labor laws and employment regulations to ensure the hotel’s compliance with all HR-related legal requirements.
    • Handle employee-related documentation such as contracts, work permits, and disciplinary actions.
    • Manage the hotel’s benefits programs (health, retirement, etc.), ensuring employees are informed about their options and entitlements.
  4. Employee Relations:

    • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, providing support and resolving conflicts in a professional manner.
    • Promote a culture of respect, inclusion, and teamwork among staff members.
    • Support management in maintaining employee satisfaction and morale, particularly during the transition and rebranding period.
  5. HR Administration:

    • Maintain up-to-date employee records and files in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
    • Prepare HR reports and metrics for management review.
    • Support budget planning related to labor costs and HR initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Human Resources Manager, HR Generalist, or in a similar HR role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, HR practices, and labor laws.
  • Proficiency in HR software and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Kronos, or similar tools).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Passion for building and nurturing a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
  • Ability to adapt HR strategies to align with the hotel’s rebranding and transformation goals.

Preferred:

  • Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • Experience working in a hotel or hospitality environment is highly desirable.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with flexibility to address urgent HR or payroll matters as they arise.
  • Some evening or weekend work may be required to accommodate the needs of the hotel.

This role is crucial not only in managing day-to-day HR and payroll operations but also in fostering a culture that reflects the hotel’s new brand identity during this exciting rebranding process.
