Lakeside HR Group has been engaged by our client to recruit a hands‑on Human Resources Manager to join their team. Our client is an established organization that provides specialized professional services to a variety of clients and industries.
This role will lead day‑to‑day HR and strengthen the practices that support the full employee experience, with particular emphasis on training, performance, and accountability. The Human Resources Manager will work closely with leadership to identify opportunities, make thoughtful recommendations, and turn agreed‑upon priorities into practical action plans.
The ideal candidate will bring ownership, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach, along with the confidence to address difficult issues, hold respectful boundaries, and explain decisions with clarity and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
HR Leadership and Operations:
- Own day‑to‑day HR activities across recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and employee transitions.
- Maintain clear, practical HR policies, accurate employee records, and consistent processes that support business needs and applicable employment requirements.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and leaders, handling sensitive matters with discretion, fairness, and timely follow‑through.
- Identify gaps, recommend improvements, and manage implementation from planning through completion.
Training and Development:
- Assess training needs and develop a practical training plan aligned with employee responsibilities and business priorities.
- Build and coordinate onboarding, ongoing role-specific skills training, and employee development opportunities.
- Help leaders establish clear expectations and reinforce learning through coaching and feedback.
- Evaluate tools for delivering and tracking training, including supporting a learning management system (LMS) implementation as appropriate.
- Monitor training participation and effectiveness and adjust the approach based on results.
Employee Relations and Change Management:
- Build productive relationships across the organization with employees who bring varied perspectives and levels of professional experience.
- Guide changes to workplace practices, schedules, and expectations through thoughtful planning, clear communication, and employee input.
- Help employees understand the reasons behind decisions while addressing concerns respectfully and maintaining accountability.
- Coach leaders through challenging conversations, performance concerns, and team dynamics.
- Promote positive morale and engagement alongside consistent application of policies and expectations.
Business Partnership and Execution:
- Partner with leadership to prioritize HR needs and recommend solutions that consider both business requirements and employee impact.
- Translate recommendations into actionable plans with clear responsibilities, timelines, and follow‑through.
- Exercise independent judgment, raise concerns constructively, and offer workable alternatives when a request cannot be supported.
- Measure progress and adjust plans as the organization’s needs evolve.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience with broad generalist exposure across multiple areas of HR.
- Demonstrated experience independently owning an HR function, program, or significant initiative. Prior HR Manager experience is preferred but not required.
- Solid working knowledge of HR fundamentals, including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, benefits, and employment compliance.
- Experience developing, coordinating, or delivering employee training.
- Experience implementing and administering a learning management system (LMS).
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information and navigate sensitive conversations with professionalism and discretion.
- Availability to work onsite in Stillwater five days per week.
