Consilio's Direct Hire Division is seeking a Human Resources Manager for a leading Am Law firm. This exempt position may be based in either the Washington, DC or Los Angeles office and follows a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week in office.
Salary Range: $125,000 - $172,000
Position Overview
Reporting to HR leadership, the Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic advisor to administrative department leaders, partnering on workforce planning, employee relations, talent management, organizational effectiveness, performance management, compensation, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic HR guidance to department leaders regarding workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and talent strategies.
- Counsel managers on employee relations matters, workplace conflicts, performance concerns, conduct issues, and policy interpretation.
- Conduct employee relations investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions.
- Support performance management processes, including coaching, evaluations, goal setting, and employee development planning.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers on recruiting efforts, candidate selection, and onboarding.
- Assist with compensation administration, including market pricing, salary recommendations, promotional reviews, and annual compensation planning.
- Support organizational change initiatives and employee engagement efforts.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Recommend process improvements and support implementation of HR programs and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; equivalent experience may be considered.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- 6-8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 5 years in an HR Business Partner, HR Manager, Employee Relations, or similar strategic HR capacity.
- Law firm experience strongly preferred; professional services, consulting, or other complex corporate environments will also be considered.
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations, performance management, compensation, talent management, and organizational consulting.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, investigative, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office; Workday experience preferred.
